Our 'Pet Hates' are often directed towards marketing departments! (Who in the world would miss them if they didn't exist?)
To keep it simple, for now we're just going with the top 3.
Number 1:
Nonsensical claims
You've seen these and. like us, probably ignored them as ridiculous. For example:
"[Product] is up to 100% effective!"
They do realise that this means it's anything from 0% to 100% effective, don't they? If you're like us, you're going to assume it's nearer 0% than 100%.
Number 2:
Cookies and targeted advertising
Your toaster breaks (again!) and you're looking to replace it, so you do some research on the internet. You find one to buy, so you go to your nearest electrical shop or your facourite on-line seller and make a purchase. Then, for the next 6 months you're deluged with adverts for toasters!
Advertisers are presumably paying more for targeted adverts which are effectively pointless.
Number 3:
Sale Prices
Surely no-one has ever bought anything because it's advertised as "60% off for a limited period"?
Everyone will have an idea if the price to pay represents good value or not and realise the ONLY price that matters is the current price. If it's too high, you don't buy - and maybe wait for a 'sale'!
